A brand is always primarily depicted through its visual elements i.e. a logo which essentially connotes the values and the philosophy of the organization. The RGIPT logo embodies everything that the institute stands for i.e. intelligence, integrity, passion and national pride.
The logo symbolozes a flower. Each petal stands for a drop of petroleum and represents the core property of the institute i.e. Petroleum Technology. A flower symbolizes the coming together of various resources to form one whole integrated unit. A flower also stands for purity and renewal. And that is exactly what RGIPT stands for. It is an institute which nurtures talent and adds value to the talent thus making it viable for national progress. With a strong stress on conserving the environment, the institute is aiming for a more efficient and greener future.
The outer concentric circles enclose all that the institute embodies and re-affirm to the solidarity of the institute. The name of the institute features prominently in between the two circles.
RGIPT believes in education and its strenghts. Hence, the usage of the Sanskrit inscription "Vidhyaratnam Mahaddhanam" at the base of the logo which means "Knowledge is the greatest wealth".
The colours used in the logo are truly Indian and are meant to bring out visually the importance of the institute in the national scenario and to reinforce how important this institute exactly is to the development of a nation which is gaining momentum very fast. The green in the logo is used to connote the ecological consciousness of the institute.
This logo is the symbolic representation of all the values that make up the RAJIV GANDHI INSTITUTE OF PETROLEUM TECHNOLOGY.
