Workshop on City Gas Distribution Business - November 13-15, 2019
Department of Management Studies, Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Petroleum Technology (RGIPT) conducted a Management Development Workshop on city Gas Distribution Business at Noida from 13th to 15th November 2019.
The workshop was designed for middle managers and senior managers of Oil Industry including City Gas Distribution companies. The objective of this workshop was to introduce the concepts of CGD Business, technical aspects in design, project implementation challenges, Operational issues, HSSE, Regulatory perspectives, Contracting, HR, Optimization, Allied Revenue Business Options & Business Development in City Gas Distribution. The prime focus was to introduce new concepts and approaches to the participants to enable structured development of City Gas Distribution in India.
Experts from Oil Industry were the faculty to the workshop (Senior Consultants)Shri Vijay Duggal, Shri Rajiv Bakshi, Shri M. G. Shaikh and Dr. Debashish Jena (RGIPT) to enable the participants to understand the concepts through practical examples and case studies. RGIPT Faculty spoke on the various modeling techniques that are used while executing projects of CGD.
There were 27 participants from Oil companies and CGD Companies who actively participated in the workshop and shared their experiences with the group. The programme was coordinated by shri D. N. Mathur, Industry Coordinator (RGIPT) and Ex-GM, BPCL .
The programme was inaugurated by the Convener, Shri M. B. Lal, Ex-Chairman, HPCL and Member, Board of Governors of RGIPT. In his address, he stressed on the Govt. of India initiative to make India, a Gas based Economy since gas is cheaper than other fuels and is environmental friendly.
Director, RGIPT participated in the workshop and gave his valuable suggestions in his valedictory address. He showed his concern towards pollution and wanted CGD Companies to commission the CNG Stations as early as possible so that carbon emission in the atmosphere is reduced considerably.
The workshop was a great success and the participants complemented the faculty for excellent interaction and knowledge sharing during the workshop.
