ABOUT THE CONFERENCE
Energy is one of the key drivers of economic development; therefore energy requirements are constantly rising. The modern economies are hugely dependent on energy for economic progress and prosperity. Higher use of conventional sources of energy resulting in higher carbon dioxide emission; therefore climate change has been a serious concern. Most of the developed and developing economies are in the process of transition from carbon based energy to green energy. In the context of greener economies; sustainable and renewable sources of energy have been receiving much needed attention. Orientation towards green development demands innovations, efficient technology development and management. Various companies have started working in this direction to manage the transformation in a cost effective and efficient manner but the efforts of meeting energy gaps is still in its infancy. The changing business environment necessitates a better understanding of energy needs, supply, demand, trade, and legal framework to optimize energy consumption; more specifically reduce consumption of carbon based energy and increase the share of sustainable energy.

In the context of optimization of global energy consumption; there is a need for developing a forum to bring academicians, researchers, research & development (R&D) experts, policy makers, and industry professionals to a common platform to deliberate on various challenges and opportunities in the energy sector. With this prime objective, a dedicated Conference on various functional areas of management and energy by Department of Management Studies (DoMS), RGIPT is being conceived.

The conference seeks inputs from individuals working in the field of management, energy and other allied sectors. The conference plans to cover entire value chain of energy industry and other relevant areas to discuss challenges, opportunities, and advancements in the energy domain. The conference on Emerging Challenges and Opportunities in Energy Sector (ECOES-2018) would provide a unique opportunity to interact with large number of national and international researchers in multidiscipline. Further, renowned speakers from industry and academia will share insights with the delegates of the conference.

The overall objective of the International Conference on Emerging Challenges and Opportunities in Energy Sector (ECOES-2018) is to provide a platform and stimulate discussion on various issues affecting business and management; especially relating to Energy, Operations, Logistics, Supply Chain, Marketing, Human Resources, Investment, Project, Finance, Strategic and Sustainable Management. The conference aims to promote synergetic partnership between academia, research institutions, and industry and also to showcase the growth of cutting edge technology development and adoption in recent past for a sustainable future. This will be achieved through multi-disciplinary research-based idea generation and discussions. The attempt is to bring about richness in discussion by encouraging contributions from researchers across academic institutions and industry worldwide.
